Business Conduct Line

All employees, officers and directors have a duty to report promptly, verbally or in writing, any instance of any improper practice of which they are aware in connection with the operations or activities of the Company. This obligation requires that any employee who becomes aware of any actual or suspected violation of the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, any applicable law, or any of the Company's policies or procedures must report it promptly to his or her manager, to the Compliance Officer, or to the Business Conduct Line (which is comprised of the Company's telephone reporting system and web-based submission system).

The Business Conduct Line may be accessed as follows:

For employees based in the United States:

  • You may submit a report by phone by calling the toll-free number 855-260-7433.

  • You may submit a report electronically via the Emergent intranet by logging into the web-based submission system at www.emergentbiosolutions.ethicspoint.com.

  • You may submit a report electronically from any computer having internet access (work, home, public library, neighbor, etc.) by going to www.ethicspoint.com and clicking on "File a new report". Enter Emergent BioSolutions (even if you are at an Emergent site with a different name), and go to the EthicsPoint's secure landing page to file your report.

For employees based outside the United States:

  • You may submit a report by phone by calling the following toll-free/free phone numbers:
    • Germany: 0800-1016582
    • Singapore: 800-120-4201
    • United Kingdom: 0800-032-8483
    If you are calling from outside one of the above listed countries the Business Conduct Line can be accessed by dialing +1-855-260-7433 (toll applies).

  • You may submit a report electronically via the Emergent intranet by logging into the web-based submission system at www.emergentbiosolutions.ethicspoint.com.

  • You may submit a report electronically from any computer having internet access (work, home, public library, neighbor, etc.) by going to www.ethicspoint.com and clicking on "File a new report". Enter Emergent BioSolutions (even if you are at an Emergent site with a different name), and go to the EthicsPoint's secure landing page to file your report.
    • Special notice for Germany-based employees: German law restricts the type of information that can be reported anonymously through Business Conduct Lines. Only the following types of reports may be submitted through the Business Conduct Line (web and/or telephone): anti-bribery; auditing and accounting; banking; and financial issues. Reports or complaints about any other matter may be made to the Chief Compliance Officer, your manager or local Human Capital representative.

All reports will be treated in a confidential manner, except where disclosure is required to properly investigate the matter or is mandated by law. You may choose to make a report anonymously. You will not be required to state your name to make a report to the Business Conduct Line, but you can choose to do so. The Business Conduct Line can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

All reports that are submitted by phone (whether to the live operator or by voice message) will be transcribed and entered into an electronic case management system for tracking and communication purposes. Both telephone reports and web-based reports will remain anonymous if anonymity has been requested, subject to local country restrictions. Calls to the Business Conduct Line are never taped or traced.
